Code of Conduct

CODE OF CONDUCT

You must abide by this Code of Conduct for Parents/Children in order to maintain the safety and security of the eGrove Systems Platform for everyone and to improve the platform’s user experience.

The basic user code of behavior is as follows:

• Make sure you are using the Site or Application from a quiet workspace when you access it.
• Have the supplies you’ll need on hand, including notebooks, pens, pencils, and any other items your teacher might specify for your class.
• Make sure the cameras are placed against a neutral or virtual/blur background. If such a space or backdrop is unavailable, the online learning activities should simply employ audio.
• Make sure you use a microphone, test it, and make sure the voices don’t echo.
• Make sure your internet connection is reliable and strong.
• Arrive promptly for all classes and activities by entering the virtual classroom or meeting room two minutes before the start time.
• Be professional and behave as though you were in a classroom by standing up and not lying down.
• Do not talk over others when they are speaking; instead, use the raise hand option to interrupt and ask questions.
• If you are not obliged to talk or communicate, turn on the silent feature.
• Participate fully in your online class, both physically and mentally.
• Wear suitable clothes at all times during the classroom/ meeting sessions and be cautious that it is a public platform
• The languages that you speak, and text message must be professional, polite, and courteous at all times including any conversations in the background
• Do not be sarcastic or rude
• Be mindful of any personal information that may be on your computer desktop or device while screen sharing during class. Before sharing the screen on a video call, the computer desktops should be cleared of any materials that will not be used or inappropriate
• The content that you submit on the Platform must be relevant to the topic. Also, avoid off-topic messages that may disturb or annoy others.
• Do not make comments of a personal nature during the Classroom session.
• Obey Intellectual Property (IP) rights and Copyrights rule and refrain from submitting User Content that is in copyright/IP rights violation
• Do not send or speak abusive or insulting messages or content (e.g., comments about spelling mistakes)
• Do not post advertising messages, political and religious messages, false information, or messages that may constitute invasions of privacy (e.g., posting another person’s telephone number without their permission). Several actions may lead to a severe breach of the user Code of Conduct and would lead to kick you out of the class or meeting session, or suspension, termination, or even legal action on the respective user and they are:
  • Use of abusive or disrespectful language when speaking with Teachers or other users on the Platform
  • Improper dressing or undressing in part or in full during the live classroom
  • Anybody language or sign gestures or hand gestures that are universally rude or abusive
  • Use of racist, offensive, obscene, abusive languages or messages or using references to appearance, caste, gender, religion, and/or learning ability of other users or Teacher
  • Any attempt to develop, induce, or support any emotional, online/offline physical abuse or sexual relationship with other users in any way
  • Use or encourage the use of alcohol, drugs, cigarettes, or other intoxicating substances in any of your interactions on the Platform
  • Posting messages or speaking to promote discrimination, violence, or hatred
  • Sharing of content that is explicit, inappropriate, or disturbing content in any form on the Platform
  • Sharing personal details, profile information, identity information, or images of other students on a public platform
  • Downloading, storing, copying, photocopying, screenshots of eGrove Systems content and other relevant content from a platform other than any assigned work
  • Any violent display of you or by other members including your parent or your family members, in the background and/or on screen
